Abominations
A report by Bloomberg News says a farmer in China is breeding pigs the size of polar bears that weigh more than 1,000 pounds because China is in a pork shortage as a result of the African swine flu.
A few years ago someone in Germany bred rabbits as big as small dogs and the plan was to sell them to North Korea for food because the people are starving.
What about…someone in Chicago asks over a hot cup of coffee on a chilly October night…growing more vegetables and fruit and baking more bread so that no one has to eat a pig or a rabbit?
It’s a silly question, the person is told, bacon tastes good and rabbits are dumb. So by all means eat them.
The horror, the questioner thinks. The shocking, everyday horror of killing beautiful animals and swallowing them.
The coffee gives way to beer then wine then gin and cigarettes and then a painful nightmare of giant rabbits and mutant monster pigs ripping each other to shreds.
Then, they start moving toward us…--TK
