A Winter Sky
There are a few stars in the sky the week before Christmas Eve, but mostly the cold December night is dominated by darkness and the half moon.
The moon, stubbornly, holds its stance and does not take offense when you turn your back to it for a moment to see if the stars come into better focus if you squint, relax, squint relax.
Stars are the most violent of things; on fire and raging because they must do so to give life to the planets. The moon has no light or power of its own. It reflects the light of the sun and that light falls down to us through the night.
It’s the moon. And it wants nothing from you. --TK
