The Long Wait For White
Pascal X. is on rant:
“It didn’t snow for Christmas! Nope! Not a frickin’ flake! No white Christmas, no Bing Crosby, no Tannenbaum dreams come true, damn you! They write songs, make movies, tell tales about snowfall on Christmas but not this year! Nope! No thanks, try again! Who do I call? Where do I complain? Who gets fired? No snow for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in any way! Nada! Zippo! Kaput! Shit, it sucked brother! Whoever sings that they’re dreaming of a cold, brown Christmas? No one in America. No one who loves Outkast and fears God! We didn’t get a white Christmas, but here, now, December 29, a Tuesday and it snows! Now it snows. How bleepin’ convenient! Has this ever, ever happened before?! Huh? No snow on Christmas but then a beautiful layer of snow four days later, the first measurable snow of the season! Has it ever happened before?!”
“Probably, Pascal. It has probably happened lots of times.”
Pascal X. is now quiet. Now he has left the room. Now he has come back and he’s wearing a dress and wants to be called Pascale X.
“And I still think it sucks that it wasn’t a white Christmas!” Pascale screams.
Pascale has lots of anger and a big closet. It could be a long winter. –TK
