Fly’s Children

The fly might have had a dream to see Christmas.

Perhaps encouraged by the Christmas music and inspired by the holiday lights, the fly has been buzzing around the kitchen for weeks.

Flies don’t often live past Thanksgiving, do they? Not in Chicago.

Alas, it died.

Its little body was found on the counter. Motionless. Lifeless.

But not defeated.

When it got to Fly Heaven we imagine it told its friends that it nearly made it. It could feel the Christmas warmth, and sense the holiday light, and consider the angel’s touch.
